Akili Innovative Synergy Hub is a cutting-edge research group specializing in the development of advanced technologies to support mental health among youth. Our team consists of six dedicated researchers: four from the University of Embu, Kenya, one from Mount Kenya University, Kenya, and one from TINADA, a youth organization in Kisumu, Kenya. United by our mission, we are committed to creating innovative solutions that address the mental health challenges faced by young people in sub-Saharan Africa.
Our primary focus is the development of a comprehensive mental health app designed to screen for mental health issues and provide referral options. Additionally, we are creating an AI-powered chatbot that offers conversational assistance, raises awareness, and provides valuable information on mental health topics. At Akili Innovative Synergy Hub, we believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration.
